How to make your album

A short, step-by-step guide. Click each topic to see the details.

Where are your photos stored?

When you “upload” a photo to the album, it is not sent to the internet or to any cloud. It stays only on your device (the computer, tablet or phone you are using), stored inside your browser.

  • No one else sees them: neither we nor anyone else can access your photos or your albums.
  • The PDF is also made on your device: when you download it, the file is created right there, without going through any server.
  • Only on that device and that browser: if you open the site from another computer, your phone or another browser, you won’t see your drafts.
  • We count visits, not photos: the site uses an anonymous counter of how many people visit (no cookies and no personal data). It doesn’t see your photos or your albums.
  • Advertising: the site shows Google ads, which may use cookies. The ads have no access to your photos or your albums either. More details in the privacy policy.
  • If you clear your browsing data (history, cookies and site data), your drafts and their photos are deleted too.

The photos in the album are copies: your originals stay where they were.

1Start a new album
  1. Click + Create new album.
  2. Choose the orientation: portrait, like a book, or landscape, ideal for scenery. The covers, dividers, page layouts and print sizes all depend on this choice.
  3. At the top you’ll find the bar with all the tools to build your album.

The orientation is set when you start and can’t be changed afterwards.

2Cover and dividers
  • Cover: the front page of the album. You can choose from 5 designs. With Change you can try another design without losing the text or photos you already placed.
  • Divider: the page that opens each section of the album (for example, one per city). You can add as many as you need.
  • In the designs with a white box for the title, you can move it with the ✥ handle and resize it with the colored dot in its corner.
3Add photo pages
  1. Under Add page with, choose how many photos the page will have (from 1 to 10).
  2. Choose the layout. From 2 photos on, the first one is Automatic: the page starts blank, you add or drag in up to that number of photos, and they arrange themselves according to their real shape, whole and uncropped. If you add fewer, you can keep dragging photos onto the page (even on top of the ones already there) or use + Photos until you reach the maximum. To get a better arrangement, the site may change the order of the photos. If you remove one, the rest rearrange themselves.
  3. Next come all the combinations of portrait and landscape photos (for example, for 3 photos: 3 landscape, 3 portrait, 2 landscape and 1 portrait…). Further down you’ll find other layouts.
  • With each page’s Layout button you can change it later, without losing the photos.
  • Use ↑ and ↓ to change the order of pages and dividers.
  • If you’d rather not use a frame, hover over it while it’s empty and click the ×: the space stays free, to leave it empty or write in it. Restore frames brings them back.
  • Delete removes the whole page.
4Place and adjust the photos
  • Add: click an empty frame to choose a photo, or drag it from your computer and drop it on the frame.
  • Several at once: if you choose or drag several photos together, they fill the free frames on that page.
  • Adjust: click the photo (it gets a colored border) and drag it to frame it.
  • Zoom in or out: with the photo selected, use + and −. When you zoom out, the photo can become smaller than the frame and you can move it inside.
  • Auto framing ✨: with the photo selected, the site analyzes the image (faces, details, colors) and frames it the way a photographer would, following the rule of thirds.
  • Crop ✂: shows the whole photo with a box you can move and resize from the corner. Whatever is inside is what will show. There you can also use ✨ Auto framing as a starting point.
  • Swap ⇄: with the photo selected, click ⇄ and then the other photo (or an empty frame): they trade places. It works within the same page or between pages. On automatic pages, the page also adjusts the sizes so the photos stay whole. To cancel, click outside the photo or press Esc.
  • Undo ↶: if you don’t like the result, this button goes back to the previous framing (you can use it several times).
  • Replace a photo: first remove it with the × and then add the new one.

We recommend using the original photos from your phone or camera. Photos forwarded through messaging apps such as WhatsApp lose a lot of quality and may look blurry when printed.

5Write text
  • Click the sample text (such as Album title) and type your own.
  • While you type, a format panel opens beside it to change the font, the size (it shows the points it will have when printed), the alignment (left, center, right or justified) and the color.
  • With + Add a line of text (in the panel) or + Text (above each page) you can add text wherever you want. Move it with the ✥ handle and delete it with the ×.
6Background color

With the Background button you choose the color of every page in the album, including the cover and the dividers. There are 12 soft tones, designed to make your photos and text stand out.

7Your drafts are saved automatically
  • While you build the album, changes are saved automatically. In the top right corner you’ll see Saved ✓.
  • The draft takes the name you write as the title on the cover.
  • When you come back, you’ll find it under Your drafts and can continue with Keep editing.

Drafts are saved in this browser and on this device. They don’t appear in another browser, on another computer or on your phone, and they are lost if you clear your browsing data.

8Download and print
  1. Scroll to the end of the album, to the Download to print section.
  2. Choose the page size. The album adapts instantly so you can see how it will look.
  3. Check the options you need and click Download PDF.
  • 3 mm bleed: keep it checked if you’ll print at a print shop that trims the pages, and let them know the PDF already includes 3 mm of bleed. Uncheck it if you print at home or at a copy shop.
  • Binding margin: leaves 1 cm free on the binding side so the holes don’t reach the photos. If printing double-sided, the margin alternates between left and right.
  • No margins: on photo pages, images reach the top, bottom and outer edges. The margin is kept on the spine side (where the binding goes). If printing double-sided, the spine and margins switch sides on each page. We recommend using this option together with bleed.
  • Will it be printed double-sided?: answer this question before downloading (it is required if you chose a binding margin or no margins). If you answer Yes, two more options appear: Blank page after the cover and after each divider. That way, the back of the cover and of each divider stays blank. The blank page has the same background color as the rest of the album and only appears in the PDF, not on screen.

The PDF is created in high quality (300 dpi), ready to print. If the album has many pages, it may take a few moments.

?Frequently asked questions
I can’t see a photo’s buttons.
Click the photo: the ✨ (auto framing), ✂ (crop), ⇄ (swap), + and − (zoom in and out) and × (remove) buttons only appear on the selected photo. The ↶ (undo) button appears after using ✨ or ✂.
How do I change the order of the photos?
Select a photo, click ⇄ and then the photo (or empty frame) where you want to put it. To reorder whole pages, use ↑ and ↓.
Auto framing didn’t pick what I expected.
Click ↶ to go back to the previous framing, or use ✂ Crop to choose by hand which part of the photo will show.
I clicked a photo that’s already placed and the window to change it doesn’t open.
That’s on purpose, to avoid accidental replacements. First remove it with the × and then add the new one.
The letters look different from the ones I chose.
Fonts load from the internet. Check your connection and reload the page.
I opened the site on another device and my drafts don’t appear.
